We have been to the Star many times before, but not since the renovations post-Katrina. The place looks great!!! If you've been before, you might not recognize it!
We happened to be in New Orleans on the first day he reopened after Katrina and only had a limited menu. The food was still great and we were so happy to see Joey made it through the storm okay. He is quite a character!

The food at Star is absolutely incredible! You have got to try the Crab Cakes! We ordered them the first time we went and had to order more! The Stuffed Filet is to die for and the BBQ Shrimp is amazing! We had a table of 10 and all tried each other's food and all of it was awesome!

I must say that the food at your place was a good as ever. The garlic tenderloin was cooked to perfection – as ordered – and the accompanying garlic “topping” was mild and delicious. The oven-browned potatoes on the side were great, too.
And what a treat to see lobster on the menu with an actual price, in lieu of “market price.” The lobster tails with baked potato were a perfect combination with many extras offered for the potato.
Your entire staff is friendly and attentive.
Your restaurant is still a must visit for me when I am in New Orleans, and it is convenient to everything.

Our Story begins like this....
Located on "Decatur", just a few blocks down from Canal in the French Quarter. Very casual atmosphere, both couple and family friendly. As the name implies, Steaks & Seafood are the speciality, with entres averaging 15 to 25 dollars.
Open for dinner only. Enjoy our newly remodeled bar area by the front door to people watch, which is always fun in this fun city.
Joey has been with us for 28 years.
